Ticker plant

Our customer specializes in providing real time market data collected from the stock exchanges and delivering to subscribers via the internet.

The real time data collected from the markets were presented in a composite form, i.e. the data related to each symbol for each of the regional exchanges were not available. The scope of our project was to enhance the system (called the ticker plant) so that it can allow the end user to view regional exchanges data in addition to the composite data.

Corporate Action Processing System

The software was designed for use by fund managers and analysts. 'Corporate actions' are actions by companies that have a direct bearing on the valuation of the stocks of the company. This could be an earnings forecast, stock split, acquisitions etc. Information on these is provided by 19 vendors in different formats to the Fund Management Company. The software takes in the inputs, translates the formats, places them in the database and presents the relevant information through a browser to an analyst when he logs-on. The software has the intelligence to handle conflicts of information and tailor information specific to each analyst.

Online payment processing system

Our customer is an e-commerce site that provides payment services to online merchants. It is a transaction system where the online merchants pay a fee for each transaction. Different payment services are available, e.g. credit card, online checks, 1-900 number dialing etc. Transaction history of each merchant was maintained and merchants could, at any time, view online the details of all their transactions.
